Joannas Card

A neighbour of mine is cycling for the 1st time in the London to Brighton Bike ride this weekend. She is trying to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and has been practising for many weeks despite having 2 young children. Having sponsored her, I thought she might like this little card to say "Good Luck and that I was thinking of her during her ride".
I cut out the base card using Accent Essentials and used CDS to weld the two shapes together. I then layered the base card with pink gingham paper by Craft Creations. The pink gingham is my favourite paper........please Lynn could you get some more in for me at Flutterby's!! I then layered the card with green Bazzill Bling cardstock which I put through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder. Using the Cricut Stretch Your Imagination cartridge I cut out this gorgeous bike with various bits of scrap Bazzill card. I computer generated the greeting and layered it on a scallop circle. Some white glittered flowers were punched out and Kaiser gems were adhered to the centre.
A fun card that could also be used for a child or grandchild who might receive their 1st bike for a birthday (what do you think Lynn!)

Fathers Day!!

I used the gorgeous Three Bugs in a Rug cardstock called Snips and Snails available at Flutterby Crafts. I simple love this paper as it is double sided, perfect for boys and great quality. The card was sooooo simple. I cut a star with my Cricut machine using George at 4 1/2" in the blue spotty paper and highlighted it with white pen. A small white circle was cut out and the text was computer generated which was adhered with foam pads. I then cut out a small green circle with Bazzill Bling card to co ordinate with the background paper. A glittered blue star was then cut out using the George cartridge again and layered onto foam pads with a blue button placed in the centre.
I thought this card would be suitable for Father's Day or a Dad's birthday.
I would love to see your creations using the Cricut machine. Just send an e-mail to Lynn or Tracy with a photo of your card or, take your card into the shop and I am sure they would like to add it to the site for us all to see.
Look forward to seeing some of your Cricut creations.

Joannas Cricut card

Birthday Cake Shaped Card
A great excuse to make a card. Last Sunday my daughter needed to go to a 9 year old party, so this is what I made......
I used the Cricut Celebrations cartridge and the Design Software to weld the shape to create my base card. I used some Bazzill purple card for the front of the card layered with white glitter card for the icing. Lots of Kaiser gems used for the sprinkles on the icing!! The paper case was mounted on foam pads using the gorgeous Craft Creations gingham paper. I then cut some flowers out (forgotten which cartridge) and highlighted them with some more Kaiser gems. I then cut out a scallop and computer generated my greeting. Finally I added some ribbon bought last year at the Newbury Stamp Show and highlighted the cake with a white pen...
......hope you like!

I just need to do a quick bit of boasting. Who has got a gorgeous granddaughter? I just love this photo of Jet, taken early one morning. I cannot help but smile every time I look at this. I have also got some lovely photos of her at Blue Reef the other week. I will get them posted soon.
Have a good weekend. Lynn x
shhh! don't let Tracy know.....
Shhhhh! Don't let Tracy know that I am posting on the blog! I just wanted to show off the box that I decorated for my Mum and Dad for their birthday.
I painted the box using the JoSonjas acryllic paints mixed with a bit of texture paints to give it..... well....... a textured finish. I then used some of the Tilda papers to and some ribbon to decorate it. When I had finished I gave it a good covering of JoSonja matt varnish to protect it.
I then made some index cards, one for each month of the year.
Mum and Dad have just had their garden re-landscaped, so they are have just started planting out the new garden. I thought it would be a good idea for them to keep a record of the work that they are doing so they will know what to change or to keep for next year.
To finish the present I brought some packets of seeds, one for each month and put them with the appropriate month index card.
They seemed very pleased with the gift.
Have a good weekend.

Sending You all Special easter wishes!!
As usual Joanna has come up trumps with the Cricut to produce this lovely card.

Easter Card
For this card I used the Cricut George and Basic shapes cartridge and the Design Software to create my base card. I decided to use the gorgeous coordinating Craft Creations paper for the front of the card. I cut 3 eggs from the Doodlecharms cartridge and welded them to 2 rectangles to make a frame for the eggs. I then cut eggstra eggs and layered them with foam pads. I don't know why this card took me so long to make because it looks so simple now I am writing down the instructions!!!!
My new toy is my Woodware trimmer. As I could not find any coordinating ribbon to go with the paper I used my scallop cutter on the trimmer to make a ribbon effect for the top and bottom of the card. I threaded the paper ribbon through my label and computer generated the greeting. Finally I added punched flowers and Kaiser gems.
I was well chuffed with this card, firstly, as it was a challenge to weld everything together and secondly, it was the first time I had tried the ribbon technique using with my Woodware trimmer. - Joanna

Good Morning!

"This is my favourite and does not only need to be for a child's birthday. The inside could say "sending tons of love" etc. Two elephant shapes were welded together using the Cricut Design Studio (CDS) and the Cricut Zoobaloo cartridge. One elephant shape was cut in pink Bazzill Bling cardstock in shadow function and then in pink gingham with the Craft Creations paper on normal function. To cut the ears and trunk I used the shift function and ran the pink cardstock through my Cuttlebug with the bubbles embossing folder. Wobbly eyes, pink ribbon. Kaiser Kraft flowers and gems were added. Some detail was added around the edges to highlight in a black pen. Great easy card to make and I can't wait to send this off to my friends little girl." - Joanna

Good Morning!

The Whole card is assembled with products I bought at Flutterby Crafts, Whilst up there last week.
The Yummy papers are double sided and from the Company Tilda - Springtime, (now this is not the little girl Tilda from the magnolia stamps, that is a whole separate company.) The brad is also from this range.
The Stamp is of Course Embrace from Penny Black, Kaiser flowers and pearls, a silver charm from Flutterbys bead shop. and all stuck together using the fabulous ATG gun. I did sneak in a labels nestie shape too. Coloured in with Sakura Metallics (flutterbys also stock these) to give a nice shiny ellie.

Joannas' Cute Duck

"Firstly I cut and welded 2 duck shapes on my Cricut Design Studio (CDS) using the Cricut New Arrivals cartridge in green Bazzill Bling cardstock. I then layered one duck shape in the Craft Creations green gincham paper. Some wobbly eyes, Kaiser Kraft flowers and gems were added. I found some ribbon in my very messy ribbon drawer and there you have a cute and very simple shaped card." - Joanna
Back tomorrow with another.

Clocks Went Forward!
I did not and had the Michael taken out of me as I was informed I had over slept and technically I had not. LOL!!
Any How, for those that came along yesterday to the big tool event we thank you for your support.
For those that did not come, where were you? You missed some amazing information on how to use your cricut machines with the design studio to the best of their ability. Joanna had some amazing samples and Knowledge of the machines.
Tracy was Playing nicely and Nicky was making the most adorable little notebooks with the new Bind it all.
Over the next few days we will be adding projects for you to view.
First up is Joannas' little plane, How adorable for any little boys card or for someone emigrating or going on a long vacation.

For this card Joanna had to dangle the aeroplane with an acetate strip as it would not stand as a shaped card on it's own. The aeroplane was cut out and layered using Craft Creations blue gingham paper. Bazzill cardstock was used for the layers and the clouds were cut using white glitter paper. The star background paper was also Craft Creations paper and I added some clouds using a stamp from my stash. I added detail using a black and white pen.
Now Isn't that clever.
Talk soon
