Hi Everybody
Now, I have a funny feeling this is going to be a long newsletter, I have got so much to tell you all - so I think you had better make a cup of tea (or what ever is your poison) and get yourself a comfy seat, you will need it.
It has been 6 weeks since the last newsletter, a long time in newsletter world, and so much has happened.
Among the things that have happened has been the new website going 'live', which has resulted in lots of new crafters requesting copies of the newsletter (poor souls, they do not know what they are letting themselves in for!). So I would like to start by welcoming all the new readers and warn you that when I suggest you make a cup of tea and put your feet up I am not joking!!!
Right then, where do I begin with catching up the news? I will start in traditional style - with the weather.
It took a long time for the winter weather to get underway, I was beginning to think we were not going to get a good cold snap. But it has been and gone now, although I am sure we have not seen the last of the frosty weather, and it is sure good to be feeling the Spring sunshine. Also the lighter evenings are definately coming. I drove home in the half light last night.
Oh, did we have some fun when the snow was with us. Those of you that have been to the shop recently will know that there is some major building works going on in the big barn next to us. Part of the work has meant that the electricity supply box has needed moving and when it was moved we ended up loosing a lot of our power. Since then it has been a nightmare of a job. A couple of Saturdays ago, we had our power supply shut of no less than 20 times during the course of the day. I was not amused. But, hopefully, it has been fixed now and the guys are getting well on with the refurbishment - so it should not be too long and we will be back to normal (whatever normal is!!).
Of course, the coming of the snow meant that it was time for our annual trip to the trade show - and that means loads of new goodies!!
The girls had already got underway with picking out new STUFF for you to enjoy. They have already received some of the new Echo Park and MME paper packs. We are also expecting to take stock of the latest Prima range any day now.
Nicky and Cate have also been having some fun playing with the latest toy:
This is one VERY appropriately name gadget, because it does make life so easy if you like the stitched effect!! It does all the hard work for you, all you need to worry about is which design to choose and what colour thread to use!!
In January we had the latest release of stamps from the Wild Rose Studio - they went very well and we had kind of decide that maybe we would move on from WRS and pick some new stamp designers - then we saw their latest new offerings at the show.
Meet Bella, the cutest baby elephant and Annabelle.
Once again Dulce and Matthew have pulled a corker out of the hat! Nicky cannot wait to start stamping and colouring these little beauties. I am a sucker for elephants and Bella is just delicious - you wait til you see them. WRS have also come up with a new idea for the stamped images, for those of you that would like the images but are not into stamping (that me!!). All will be revealed in the shop sometime next week - the girls don't know it yet, but I have just received an email saying they will be with us on Tuesday!!
Oh, and I MUST share this with you............have you seen the latest tool from the Epiphany Craft Studio? Another 'must have' especially if you love adding buttons to your projects.
What else did we order? I know, I know - KaiserCraft! There are all the new paper designs, absolutely delicious AND double sided!! Between the new Prima and the new KaiserCraft, those paper huggers amongst us will be well happy!!
Flourishes and flowers, stamps and papers, new wood, the latest border punches from Tonic Studios. Does your fun never end?
And all that is just in the Paper Shop!! What about the Bead and Wool Shop?
We have a new range of scarf wool in stock - it is called Bolero - together with the latest colours from Starlight Revue. If you are not sure about these, come in the shop and have a try - there is a ball of both designs for you to have a little knit with.
As for the beads, we have got some gorgeous glass bead mixes coming in and some crystals, Czech Fire Polished in delicious colours. I have not got pictures that I can show you at the moment, but they will start going out tomorrow.
My mind is now blown, I cannot think what else we have got coming in - it is all to much!! So I am going to move on from that and talk about what is coming up!!
Tomorrow (Saturday) is the Crop, all day enjoying yourself playing with photo's and paper - fabulous. If you fancy it you can come for the whole day or for part of the day, just bring your photos with you.
Then next Saturday, 3rd March, (can you believe we are in March already?!) is the ProMarker class - if you are really lucky you might get to play with some of our new stamp images!!
Remember that it is the Knit'n'Natter on the 3rd March!! Just come with your knitting and sit and knit and natter!! There is no charge for this event, just a donation for our favourite charity in exchange for a cup of tea or coffee.
On the 10th March, Liz will be here to host the Jo Sonja's Home Decor class - remember, if you would like to start learning to paint, Liz will be running a painting class in the morning. Phone us for more details.
Those of you that know the Creative Craft Cabin of Twyford, or have met Alex and Jeanette at the Art Stamp Show, will know about the wonderful template cards that they make. We are lucky enough to have them with us on the 17th March.
So come and watch Alex strut his stuff and make some stunning cards, share a cuppa with us and have some fun. This is a free event, but the urn will be out to raise funds for our favourite charity.
Well now, I think I have written my finger raw!! And I am sure you must have finished your cup of tea! But before I go I must say congratulations to both Deborah and Rose, they have both become Grannies for a second time. Wonderful.
And I am going to finish with a little picture of my two babies (with Bridie sneaking in the background) Buzz and Kite.
They look quite gorgeous in this photo........not like the pair of destructive little horrors that have created havoc in our garden. Maybe they don't want us to sell our house, thats why they dug up the middle of the lawn!! I wish I could have filmed it, I am sure it would have made us laugh one day. Ho, hum.
Anyway, I am going to leave you to have a good weekend. Remember to come and take a peek at all our new goodies, join us for one of our classes and come to see Alex with his templates.
Happy crafting!!
