Scrapbook Page - Tonic Studio Flower Punch

I do so look forward to sharing with you the stunning scrapbook pages by Catherine Inglis.
This is just adorable......as well as the sweet photo of Catherine's daughter Freyja.

Tea Party 12x12 Double Sided Paper Pack

Catherine has used papers from the Tea Party Double Sided papers by Dovecraft.

I love how she has framed the photo using pink buttons from the pick and mix bowl available in the shop.  You are sure to find the exact colour you need for a particular project as there are a ton to choose from!

These doilies are gorgeous and they come in various sizes and circle shapes.

Catherine has used a Kaisercraft Rub On Sentiment of which we have a wide selection in the shop and on-line to choose from.

Here is a close up of the flower using the ever so popular
Multi Detail Flower Punch by Tonic Studios.

The stunning pastel paper flowers have been arranged around the photo on the page to give the ultimate feminine touch!

Just a reminder, that Catherine is ready and prepared for her Scrapbooking Class tomorrow, and looking forward to seeing her regular and new ladies.

Road work update!

Good morning, Everybody.

Just to let you know - the wonderful workmen, that are having so much fun keeping the Turnpike Road/Fir Tree Lane area closed, are having even more fun this week.

They have, as promised, closed the bit from our lane back to the roundabout.  So, you need to come to us via Fir Tree Lane and Turnpike Road.

Also, despite their best efforts to disguise the route by putting lorries along the roadside - we are open for business as usual and our lane is open.

Thank goodness they will be finished on Thursday!!  I am getting rather fed up with being called Missus everytime I go to talk (shout!) at them!!!

Sue's Chair

Now, if you had a chair that looked like this:

Would you think to decorate it and make it look like this:

Well, Sue did just that and what a difference it has made.

Sue has used the Jo Sonja's paints and mediums, together with a beautiful rose serviette (or 2).

If you would like to do something like this, check out our Home Decor workshops.

Or, you can come in and we will lead you through the process - that is what Louisa did and this is the result!!

Well done, Ladies.

Good news, bad news, good news.

GOOD NEWS..... :)

......for the residents of Turnpike Road, I am told that the road will be re-opened tomorrow and through the weekend.   This will mean that there will be no access problems for the next few days....
... just in time for our MEGA CRAFT SALE!!

BAD NEWS..... :(

...... for the residents of Fir Tree Lane, that will be closed over the weekend and the junction with the A4 will be affected.  Then the road works move to the part from Lower Henwick Farm entrance to the roundabout, so FOR THE BEGINNING OF NEXT WEEK ONLY access to us will be from the Fir Tree Lane end of the Turnpike Road.

GOOD NEWS..... :)

ALL of the roadworks should (repeat, SHOULD) be finished by Wednesday.  Fabulous!

In the meantime.....Nicky has been busy reducing prices (shhhh...don't let the accountant hear!) and getting things ready for tomorrow and the start of the sale!!

See you there!!

Lynn xx

ps....if you find that the road diversion signs make no sense (I think the job of setting them up was given to an alien from another planet) just give me a call and I will direct you!!

Mega Craft Sale Newsletter

Hi Everybody
Happy St Georges Day - and what a sunny one it has been!
Well, it does look like we are coming to the end of a very long Winter. Everything is starting to green up and the blossoms are coming out on the trees. Beautiful!
It was so lovely over the weekend, GC and I managed a couple of hours out in the garden - our first spring in the new house - and I received my first bit of suntanning, I looked a bit like a beetroot when I came in!!

It would be so lovely if it lasted, unfortunately it was not as warm yesterday but I have just looked and the forecast is good again for the rest of the week.
Anyway, in celebration of the warmer weather I have set up the SUMMER workshop brochure. We have got all of the usual classes and Liz is coming in to run a Home, Sweet Home Canvass workshop in May.

How do you fancy having something like this hanging in YOUR home and all crafted by your own sweet hand? Well, here is your chance! You can even pick your own colours to match your decor AND get the choice of two different times during the day.

Saturday, 11th May
10 - 12.30 or 2 - 4.30
£25 per head
all materials and refreshments included
Booking is essential (and places are going fast)!!
Now, as usual, the first Saturday of the month is Nicky's Colouring in class - packed full of help with the using the Promarkers - but now with the added joy of using the Flexmarkers. So if you fancy finding out how she achieves this:
Come along on the first Saturday in the month, 2'til 4 - playtime with the colouring pens, we all big kids at heart!
But, before we get to all of this fun, we have got Cate's Crop this Saturday. So if you fancy a play with your scrapbooking - just imagine, a WHOLE day of playing with paper and embellishments - rock up at 10am and enjoy yourself until 4pm.

Full details of all these classes are in the Summer Workshop Brochure.
So there you go, lots to tempt you. But, in the meantime, there is lots of more serious stuff ....... those of you that have been coming to the shop over the past few weeks will have noticed that the Turnpike Road has been in the process of being dug up. Well the fun is continueing ..... aparently we have another 10 days of fun. So, for the rest of this week you can get to us from the roundabout on the A4. Next week, you will have to come to us via the Fir Tree Lane end of Turnpike Road.
I have been promised that PROPER diversion signs are going to be put out on the roads, but I have to say that I am not going to hold my breath (that could be dangerous!).
Now that bit is the bad news, the good news is that I have been told the Turnpike Road will be open over the weekend - hurrah!
To celebrate the sun shining and the Turnpike Road being open and the Bank Holidays that are coming up and, well, just about anything else you can think of, we are having a

Wedding Day - Scrapbook Page

This is a delightful Scrapbook Page by Catherine Inglis on her Wedding Day using our new delivery of Kaisercraft double sided papers from the Needle & Thread Collection.

There are a couple more designs in the collection which are not shown above but are proving to be ever so popular in the shop.

I love how Catherine has embellished the page with simple journalling that says it all!
The pearl flourish looks stunning on top of the heart shape, which has been cut out of coordinating paper from the collection.

She has cut out some large flowers from one of the papers and coordinated it with a simple trim beneath.

Catherine has used a Tonic butterfly punch with self adhesive pearls to give extra dimension to the page.

I love the use of natural and neutral coloured buttons as a feature to the corner of the black and white photo.

Please pop into the shop HERE and take a peep at our on-line shop if you are not local where we stock all items used in this scrapbook page.

Catherine holds regular Scrapbook workshops and the next dates coming up are the
15th & 25th May.

Canvas Decorated Frame

Last Saturday, in the Home Décor class, we played with many different styles - as shown in the photos on our Facebook Page

As part of the class I was teaching Jeanette how to decorate a canvas.  Jeanette decorated a beautiful canvas and I did this little beauty.  I was so pleased with it that I have framed it and it now sits on the dressing table in our new bedroom.

As you would expect, I used our favourite paints - Jo Sonja's.  They were applied in a very unusual way with credit-style cards (old ones of course!).

The base colours were then enhanced with some printing (again using the paints) with various items that were kicking around in the workshop - milk bottle tops, bubble wrap, gauze etc!

Finally a die-cut heart was added.  The heart was cut from a page of an old dictionary.

Now, not wishing to put you all off of your dinner, I was very romantic.  If you look very carefully you can see why I picked this page - a dedication to the man in my life!

I hope, you too like what I have achieved.  If you too would like to have a go at this, check out the Home Décor classes on alternative Wednesday afternoons or, the 2nd Saturday in each month.

Butterfly Medley - Woodware Stamp Set

Nicky Hayden one of our workshop demonstrators has made this delightful card using the
Clear Magic Woodware stamp set called  Butterfly Medley.

She has used the Colour Box Pigment inks directly onto her stamps to give the wonderful colour blend.

Nicky has cut around the butterflies using her scissors and added a self adhesive flat backed gem.

The Clear Magic Woodware stamp set Butterfly Medley includes a wonderful sentiment that she has stamped at the base of her Kraft card.  You may also wish to see another card that was recently posted using a similar technique using the stamp set HERE

If you would like to come along to one of Nicky Hayden's card making workshops you can view or print out our Summer Workshop Brochure HERE.

Happy Flying Kites - Ruby Rock papers

Catherine Inglis has made this delightful scrapbook page using our latest delivery of papers.....they are gorgeous.

Ruby Rock scrapbook papers - Kinda Krafty collection in stock now.

Catherine has used buttons and ribbon as a trim to the photo.

I love the combination of patterned papers on the Kraft card she has used. Catherine shows how easy and effective it is to make your own banners with a touch of added doodling with her fineliner pen.

Here, Catherine has made a kite out of coordinating papers and used her Sew Easy Stitch Piercer with her Sew Easy Bakers Twine for the tail.

Sew Easy stitch piercer.

Sew Easy Bakers Twine which comes is a selection of colours.

She has added a few journalling sentiments from the collection to the tail
........looks great doesn't it?

The concertina dotty paper that Catherine has created gives added dimension to the whole page.

If you are interested in Scrapbooking, Catherine holds a couple of workshops on a regular basis in our dedicated workshop area at Flutterby Crafts.

Butterfly card using Woodware stamps

Nicky Hayden has made this lovely colourful card using a selection of
Woodware - Clear Magic Stamps and Colour Box inks.

She has used a variety of colours from the Colour Box Cats Eye pigment inks directly onto the stamps.

The Woodware butterfly stamp - Butterfly Medley has been beautifully coloured using the pigment inks and then hand cut using scissors.

Nicky has taken the Woodware flower stamp set - Flower Medley
and used the same technique to colour the stamps to make a wonderful background to the tag.

She has stamped this lovely sentiment using the Woodware Clear Magic Singles stamp called Growing Old.

If you would like more details about the techniques or supplies used in this card, please contact Nicky Hayden at Flutterby Crafts.
