Christmas 2012

Fancy Decorating a Canvass?
Watch for the
workshop on
the 9th February!
Hi Everybody
This is going to be my last newsletter for 2012, it is so hard to believe how fast this year has gone and how much has happened.
I hope nobody has been badly affected by all this rain. Our garden is like a quagmire and the park where I walk the dogs is well flooded, but they love it - all that swimming. Typical Labradors!!
It looks like we are due to be having more of the same over the next week. So much for a white Christmas!!
If you are feeling housebound and fed up from all the rain and the aftermath of Christmas, I will be in the shop on Thursday, Friday and Saturday next week. If you want to join me having a crafting play (because that is probably all I will be doing!), you are welcome. I did it last year and we had good fun. It is a drop in session and very relaxed.
Anyway, here is a reminder of the opening times over the next two weeks:
Saturday 22nd December - 9.30 'til 4pm
Sunday 23rd December - Closed
Monday 24th December - Closed
Tuesday 25th December - Closed
Wednesday 26th December - Closed
Thursday 27th December - 11 'til 3pm
Friday 28th December - 11 'til 3pm
Saturday 29th December - 11 'til 3pm
Sunday 30th December - Closed
Monday 31st December - Closed
Tuesday 1st January - Closed
Wednesday 2nd January - Open as normal
I have, also, managed to prepare the workshop brochure for the first 3 months of 2013!!
It has all of our regular classes and I will be adding specials as the time goes on. The first one being the Canvass painting (see picture above). I have used mine to show off a beautiful picture of my Granddaughter, but you can put anything with you or it looks great just on its own. The full details will be out in the first week of the New Year.

Remember, if you cannot make a regular - you can always arrange your own class.
Well that is it! Can you believe that I can write such a short newsletter. I am going to go off now and finish organising my first Christmas, with GC, in our new house. I have FOUR full days off, wonderful.
Have a great Christmas and best wishes for 2013 - may the sun shine for you next year.
With best wishes,
Lynn and the Girls. x

Christmas card using wooden reindeer embellishment

I love this Christmas card by Catherine Inglis using festive colours coordinated with Kraft card and the wooden reindeer embellishment.

Wooden Reindeer Embellishments

The wooden reindeer embellishment comes in various designs, which are self adhesive and approximately 2mm thick.

Catherine has used a Marianne Design Craftables Round Die.  The Dies are designed for cutting and embossing with most Die cutting machines including the Cuttlebug and Big Shot.

Love this ribbon which has been tied in a simple knot.

Catherine has layered a combination of Kaisercraft papers with the checked and dotty A4 card found here

Finally, a Kaisercraft rub-on transfer has been used as the sentiment for the card.

Here is a photo highlighting the different elements giving plenty of dimension to the card.

Versatile Die Cut Topper Sheets for cardmaking

Here are the final 2 projects inspired by Nicky Hayden to make as many cards and projects using Foiled  Die Cuts Toppers from this one sheet.

Here is the final card using a small circular doily to accent the Die Cut.  Nicky has also stamped and embossed the stars and added a sentiment stamp.

Please check earlier blog posts to see the collection of cards and projects by Nicky Hayden, which show the versatility of using Die Cut Topper sheets found in our store or at The Mulberry Bush.

Easel Card and Pillow Box with Christmas Foiled Die Cut Sheets

Following on from yesterday's post, when Nicky challenged the ladies to make as many projects from a foiled die cut sheet.....here are some more!

Nicky showed an example of how a Die Cut tag can be used simply, but decoratively, together with a Corrugated Brown Pillow Box and embellishments.

She also made this festive Easel card using A4 Holly designed cardstock together with two foiled die cuts and, a silver Christmas sentiment peel off.

This die cut sheet is adorable and there are plenty more in our shop.....come and see!

Deer With Robins - Die Cut foiled sheets

At a recent workshop Nicky Hayden challenged the ladies to make as many cards as they could using one sheet of die cut foiled toppers.

Nicky has used an A4 sheet of Holly designed cardstock, decorative corner peel offs, self adhesive rhinestones and silver ribbon. which are available in our shop, Flutterby Crafts.

Nicky also used the same Die Cut toppers from the same sheet to make this simple but decorative festive bag.

These white paper bags are available in the shop and she has used the same supplies as above but added a circle die cut topper and the addition of a red bell attached to the silver bow.

Please pop back during the week to see additional projects using the same foiled Die Cut Topper sheets.
