My Mind's Eye - Card Crafting with Lynn

Last Thursday in the Card Crafting workshop with Lynn she demonstrated this lovely Tag card using My Mind's Eye Festive paper.

Lynn then set everyone a challenge including herself to make as many cards with the remaining 3 sheets of My Mind's Eye Festive paper and bazzill cardstock that they were given in the workshop. Lynn made 10 cards including the Tag card and she says there is still plenty of paper left to make even more cards!!!!

How did you do in the challenge?

Ollyfant pop up card

I had a fab time this afternoon and joined in the cardmaking workshop which takes place every Tuesday afternoon, 1.00pm-2.30pm, please click here for more details. Tuesdays are my day off at the moment so I thought I would treat myself to a workshop. The best bit is my husband doesn't know what I am up to, so having been to the garage this morning to get my car fixed, a quick clean around the house, made a cottage pie for tea, I arrived just in time for Nicky's class. Here are two samples using the Ollyfant stamps and Kraft card.

Nicky assures me that more of the adorable Ollyfant stamps are on order. We used the new Woodware Brown Kraft card which comes in A4 sheets of 20 in a pack, which is textured on one side and smooth on the other. The packs have just come into the shop but, I am sure they will disappear very quickly as they are gorgeous!

Then a quick dash to collect the kids from school at 3.15pm. It's suprising what us women can fit into a day when we have to. So come on ladies treat yourself to some ME time!

Chipboard Calendar

My husband has been away for 2 weeks so I was in need of a night off from family life!!! So I booked myself onto a workshop "Crafting with Nicky" which is held every fortnight on a Wednesday evening, 6.30-8.30pm, click here for details.

Wow, what a treat I had. Not only did we make these lovely calenders using chipboard and the Bind It All machine but the chatter was very entertaining around the craft table. I must get a life and get out more with the girls, it was a real hoot!!

Don't you think these calendars would make lovely gifts for Christmas?

Fat Snowman stamp

This afternoon I made a flying visit to the shop and it was buzzing with activity. I realised that one of Nicky's workshops had just finished. Jacky Emslie is one of the ladies who had just finished the class with Nicky and excitedly showed me the card she had made. She said "it's only my 3rd workshop and I'm already addicted". Join the club Jacky and "Didn't she do well!".

The gorgeous snowman rubber stamp used is called "Fat Snowman" which has been designed by our very own Nicky Hayden for Flutterby Crafts. Blue Bazzill cardstock was used for the background, some Christmas backing paper, a snowflake punch and the ever so popular Woodware Paper Lace. All items available from the shop.

Remember Nicky has a cardmaking workshop every Tuesday afternoon, 1.00pm-2.30pm and for more details of this class click here. However, if you want to keep up to date will all the workshops at Flutterby Crafts and there are lots to choose from, why not print off the Autumn workshop calendar click here.

Wedding Anniversary

Just thought I would let you all know that I am about to be wined and dined by my lovely hubby (I know I moan about him sometimes, but......he's not too bad!!)

It is our 35th wedding anniversary today. Not bad going - we were the original 'they will never make it' couple - and we still manage a laugh together every now and then!!

He is cooking me scollops done to the original Mrs Beaton recipe, my favourite! Might even be a little bit of fizz to drink with it.

Hopefully I will be in a fit state to open the shop in the morning.

See you all there.

Lynn xx

Am I in big trouble

Oh, my goodness me. Am I in big trouble. We had a weekend of fun in the workshop beading and I was supposed to take photos.
Sorry, Joanna.
I forgot the camera on Saturday and I remembered to take it with me on Sunday, but did not have it charged up. I hang my head in shame.
But we did have a great time and we made some lovely bits and pieces. The bells are just divine, the snowflakes are gorgeous and the bracelets & necklaces went well.
I have slapped my wrists and I promise to try harder with the photos.

Have a good week.

Demonstration Day with Amanda Fowler

Well all of you who dropped into the Demonstration Day held today by Amanda Fowler had a real treat. She was in the shop demonstrating the Art of Decoupage and signed copies of her beautiful new book which has lots of step by step instructions with photographs.

She brought with her lots of wonderful projects that are featured in her book. I turned up in the middle of Amanda showing us how to make beautiful candles with stamped images coloured in with Promarkers. I then stayed to watch another demonstration on decoupage which could be applied to photo frames, plaques, clocks and so on. I was captivated and now I am bursting to try out some of the techniques she demonstrated today.

We were all treated to a cup of tea by lovely Lynn and double points on all our purchases! What a way to spend a Saturday!!!

If you were unlucky to attend the demonstration today on The Art of Decoupage I am sure Lynn may have one or two copies of Amanda's book and the other 3 in the series for you to buy.

Friday, 11 September 2009

Just a quick reminder
